Good Point, why didn't we go get another JUCO PG?

My bad. Forgot Pats is a JC.
Need one more instead of 4 High schoolers

Fabyon may still be C/O 2011. If that is the case, this class consists of 1 JUCO and 3 HS players, which seems to be a good mix.

The player I would have really liked from JUCO would have been a scoring 2/3. Seems like I wish for that every year though and have come up empty for quite some time. Hopefully Pats will provide some scoring punch at the 2.

I think Pats will have games just like he did this past season. On fire, can't miss.
However, he is a j shooter & he has games where he can't
hit anything. See Mavs

it's not a matter of getting JUCOs in, as we're allowed special exemptions. its about them losing most of their credits if they decide to come. At other schools everything is accepted.

Even w/the surprise ending to the cycle, '10 is a good class for SMU. The roster is deeper, w/better shooters and passers. We also added decent size in the front court.

If we all knew Fab was qualifying & Jeremiah was the utility/back-up handler, I think we'd be very very happy. It's the fact that Jeremiah looks to be the guy early which is sorta disheartening. Something many here haven't considered is that Doh may actually prefer Jeremiah to Fab, straight up. I'm told he really likes this kid, so in that way, Jeremiah is a polarizing scholarship. Head Coach in jeopardy, needs a college ready PG, and put his [deleted] on the line w/a left field evaluation. Good drama, unfortunately, it's all of Jeremiahs head, which isn't really fair. We'll see what he's got and soon.

Jeremiah Samarrippas, a 5-10 point guard, has signed a National Letter-of-Intent to play for the Mustangs beginning with the 2010-11 season, SMU announced today. Samarrippas is a senior at Bartow High School in Florida.

"Jeremiah is a consummate point guard and he is a winner," SMU coach Matt Doherty said in a statement. "Jeremiah led Bartow High School to the 5A State Championship in Florida and was the 5A Player of the Year. I am positive that he will make a great impact on SMU Basketball."

SMU had planned on adding Chicago point guard Fabyon Harris weeks ago, but tragedy and now reportedly academic qualification have put that commitment on hold.

I like what I see, but then again, those clips suggest Bartow's coach was OK with his guys pushing the ball and we all know Doherty prefers we walk it up and take advantage of our stellar half court game.

Anyone know this kids assist: turnover ratio?

Interesting. This kid is not going to fit well here unless Doh takes his hands off the reins.

based on what I read the Chicago kid would have needed a "Larry Johnson Miracle Score" to qualify. It happens sometimes but it was a long shot--you know its a longshot when the kid is talking about a Junior College this late in his high school career. You can only clean what 1-2 classes off your transcript now in Prep school so I'm not sure I would getting so upset about something we never really had.

You still try and control the flow of talent if possible. It doesn't matter if he was prepping or going JUCO, the key was us placing him.
