I've been searching all Track Season but hadn't found anything too encouraging about Darryl Fields track season. But checked back tonite and he had a very nice weekend meet last weekend where he posted some nice times including an outstanding 10.47 100 Meters and a 22.13 200 Meters The 100 Meters time is the best in Oklahoma Class 4A this year and the 200 Meter Result is 4th best in Oklahoma 4A this year. http://www.ohstrack.com/outdoorbestperf ... boys10.asp

10.47 would have won the Texas Relays, for which the best time I think was 10.48 by a kid from West Orange Stark.
Even more impressive to me is Fields is doing this at 6'1 or so, not 5'8

At 210 pounds, a sub 50 quarter is not too shabby. The key is his quickness. acceleration and speed in the 0-20 yard range. I bet he has it.

Fields apparently just won both the Class 4A 100 and 200 races today!!! He was also the anchor on the 400 HS Team that won as well. I didn't find the times on the Finals, but he is one fast human being.....
Fields ran a 21.87 in the 200 prelim and a 10.74 in the 100 prelim.... he lost the 100 in the prelim to the TT RB signee Griffin. Fortunately, we only need him to run 100 yards at a time.
