As I posted a few months back, Mike Garrett had personally told my dentist, who were Baseball teammates at USC, that the sanctions were going to be "a lot worse" than anyone was anticipating and Garrett was seriously concerned.
Now that the shoe has fallen it is obvious that Mike was prescient in his private remarks.
Apparently a "Payroll to Meet" violation must be an unwritten requirement for successful Private "Methodist" Football programs to get slapped harder than most by the NCAA!
USC's saving grace is that LA has no Pro Football, and unless "Tricky Rick" can resuscitate the moribund Bruins, the LA fans will still look to the "Fighting Methodists" for their FB fix!
If UT and OU do the Pac-16 move I'm afraid it is going to be a long dry spell before USC again becomes relevant in any quest for an NC bid!
At least I hope the Ponies keep moving in the right direction as my "first favorite team" is going to be mired in Traveler's, Peruna's, and the "Two Gelding's" poo for the foreseeable future!
