There IS a reason to add a second scoreboard in the north end zone: Because only high school stadiums have just one scoreboard.

The second scoreboard doesn't have to be anything extravagant - just basic score, clock, and down and distance. But big-time stadiums have scoreboards at both ends for the convenience of fans and teams.
