If they went to 12-now it might be easier. Alternatives would be Nevada, SMU, UH, Fresno and UTEP. However, based upon everything I know about the MWC they will not go to even 12 now. REASON: They want to be prepared if this happen again in 2 years-they got themselves in a great bargaining position which they almost cashed in

If they add Utah, do they need to do anything since they added Boise Friday?

I think they will stay at 9 for now. Boise State simply replaces Utah keeping their current strength in football and dropping down in basketball and other sports.

It depends on if they still need a boost for BCS status.

Houston is 1st up because they add to their BCS profile. They could stop at 10. If they want to go 12 and get a championship game, then we are back to SMU, Fresno, Nevada for the last two spots.

....yep just waiting for the first conference to have the balls to go to 16-and it could start all over. I would seriously doubt they add anybody but if they do I would guess Houston too.

Would we want to go? Utah leaving MWC is a blow. Killerfrogs is worried about BYU being pouched too. That would kill their league.

while boise has a had a few better years than Utah, thats a weaker long term league when you trade out Utah for Boise. Also not sure losing Utah wouldnt give the BCS a convenient excuse to not bring in the MWC any time soon.

Is Utah a "lock" to go to the PAC with a Mormon Legislature-I've always had some question about that

has BYU sent their glamour shot to the Big12 yet? I don't buy the Big 12 staying at 10. Gotta backfill. BYU and Louisville is my guess. Louisville looks at the Big East and actually sees less stablity than the Big 12. All the Big12 has to suggest to BYU is that it will invite TCU if they decline and its a no brainer for BYU.
