SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

He also said the Big XII was dead, 6 teams were going to the Pac-10, Nebraska wasn't getting invited to the Big Ten, A&M going to the SEC, and he CONFIRMED 4 teams were going to the Pac-10, ......one of them has to be true eventually.

Sleep in with the confidence that our position will remain unchanged.

Its not a good 2 weeks to be Chip Brown right now, but he isn't the only "expert" who blew this one.

Expansion will happen. It is only a matter of time until the dawn of the super conference. Iowa State, Baylor, Missouri, and Kansas State are very well aware of the precarious position they were almost in. It is in their best interest that when the next shift does occur the Big 12 be large enough to survive as a conference. I expect the vacancies to be filled, both for reasons of a conference championship and the ability of the lesser powers to survive when they are ultimately left behind.

Actually, I bet he is getting a ton of money from the last two weeks. How much traffic has gone to his website and how many rivals subscriptions did he sell this week? Nature of the internet. Volume, speed, and bombshells generate money, not journalistic accuracy.

I would love to hear the author explain his "logic" for that comment. It can be interesting to peer into the mind of a crazy person.

I read the same thing about hurting our recruiting. No way JJ & Co. would be "hurt in recruiting" if SMU had a chance to be in a BCS conference.

I don't know, Baylor started sucking wind and their recruiting fell off when the Big 12 started. coincidence? maybe.

This sounds pretty crazy. UT would be escatic if the Big 12 didnt play a championship game. Mack has complained that the championship game is a national championship killer. Unless the big TV money is tied to a 12 team league, I doubt they will go to that many teams.
It would also make more sense for the Big 12 to go after Utah or even BYU than us. We add much less in terms of tv audience and we have no baseball. Utah has pretty good basketball cred too.
Oh, how do you explain to a nine year old that the Big 10 has 12 and the Big 12 has 10?

This is beyond stupid. We're not going to a Big 12 that has Texas in it. Period.
Back off Warchild seriously.
