Of course!!! Why didn't any of us think of this!?! Seriously, I can't think of how their proposed new system would fix anything at all. All we need is a playoff...

Re: How to save college football... According to the WSJWhy are you complaining? We made it into the Southern Super Group. Therefore, we're in the money!

Re: How to save college football... According to the WSJThe interesting thing is revenue as reported in the charts. If accurate, then SMU in a weak conference made about as much revenue as BSC schools Louisville, Cincinnati, Baylor and just a bit less than MWC BYU and PAC X+1 Stanford.
Imagine the revenue we could produce in a conference with more TV revenue and more exposure!
Re: How to save college football... According to the WSJI am pretty sure we discussed this idea around the time Wazzu was put on the schedule.
Even though it might have hit us a couple of times, I think it would make for great tv, and a great addition to BCS bowl week. After the other BCS bowls, the days leading up to the national championship game would feature first the FCS championship game--winner moves up to FBS. Next night would be the Pillow Fight Bowl (sponsored by Charmin) in which the teams with the two worst records in FBS play--loser moves down to FCS.
Re: How to save college football... According to the WSJI like this plan. It gives everyone a chance to work their way to the top. It would do wonders for our recruiting.
Re: How to save college football... According to the WSJThe plan works great for professional sports. Recruiting would be a nightmare for both the schools and players. With such uncertainly, how do 17-18 year old non professional athletes without agents determine which school fits into their 4 year plans?
