DALLAS (SMU) - SMU Mustangs Kelvin Beachum, Jr., and Aldrick Robinson have been named to Dave Campbell's Texas Football's 2010 All-Texas College first-team offense, according to the publication's 41st-annual edition, which hit the newsstands this week.
Beachum, who will be a junior, has started all 24 career games for the Mustangs and was a second team All-C-USA selection last season. He was also one of 12 student-athletes to receive the fall C-USA Spirit of Service Award. In 2009, he blocked for an SMU offense that passed for a school record 3,666 yards, scored a school record 380 points and rolled up a school record 5,093 yards of total offense. He was also named to Dave Campbell's Texas Football's All-Texas Team last season.
Robinson, who is entering his senior season, finished 2009 with 47 catches for 800 yards and five TDs. He hauled in a 96-yard TD pass in SMU's win over ECU, tying the mark for the longest pass play in school history, and finished with 125 yards receiving against the Pirates. He caught nine passes for a season-high 176 yards in SMU's Hawaii Bowl win and was named to ESPN.com's Non-AQ All-Bowl Team.
Also honored were Taylor Thompson, who was named second-team defense, and Josh LeRibeus, who was tabbed second-team offense.
SMU opens the season on Sept. 5, in an ESPN-televised game at Texas Tech.
