Not looking for one person to fill Sanders shoes but several as Pardon spreads out the ball. That takes pressure off our receivers to fill Sanders shoes and puts more pressure on defenses to cover more receivers.

Yea I wouldn't be surprised to see more then one guy step up and be productive. That's what they'll need anyway.

Obviously whoever wrote this is obviously new to covering the Mustangs. Let me help...

NEWSFLASH: Sanders did not "emerge" last year. He's been a prolific, record-setting pace receiver since his freshman year. Without checking the stats, he led every year except his junior year when he was edged out by Robinson.

Also, Al Robinson's drop in production had NOTHING to do with "inexperienced quarterback play". He had the same (more experienced, in fact) quarterback for the first half of the season, and a vastly improved QB the second half. Aldrick's drop in production was due to a nagging injury. When you play an elite speed game like Aldrick does, even a slight pull or twinge that slows you down just a fraction is enough to nullify the extra burst or step that provides space needed to make a clean catch and take off downfield. The pickup in production was notable in the bowl game as he healed with the extra time off.

While Al should have a great year if he can stay healthy and avoid those corners who like to bump and play physical, can an outside receiver in this offense put up large reception numbers? I think of the slots as the large receptions while the outside guys are the big-play high yardage per catch guys. Hopefully we will be more balanced but it looks like we need to stay healthy due to graduation and academic casualties. An experienced Padron will help.
