What do you think of Samarrippas?

Postby Maiken » Mon Jun 21, 2010 4:16 pm

What do you guys think about Jeremiah Samarrippas? He wasn't that heavily recruited but he's got the numbers to make me think he could be a solid four year guy. Here's an article about him.

Tell me what you think.

His videos didn't convince me that he's got what it takes to come in and start right away. I'll just leave it at that.

I think we all hope, like Doherty, that he can come right in and contribute at the point. That's a glaring weakness for next year's team

Pats should get first run at point next year. Also, "11 is an absolutely huge PG recruiting year this program. I think Jfrog will contribute and probably exceed my expectations, but that spring pg hunt is still a raw raw nerve. One thing I like about the kid is that he's pass-first. We need some floor chemistry on offense in the worst way.
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.”- Jalen Jones

New poster named "Maiken" finds an article written by someone named Max Aiken. Hmmm ...

JSam will be fun to watch, if anything. He will not "replace" Derek Williams but he brings a few different elements to the court than Derek Williams did. JSam will pass first as he will probably not be able to create his own shot even though his videos show him to be aggressive to the hoop. D1 is different than HS. He also is a big time hustler, by what I have been told, and that you cannot doubt his drive. With a new set of guys on the floor this years team could be interesting. JSam, Clink, Walker, Harp, Alexsi, Nyakundi, Leslee, Vilde, Luttman & Papa will be alright.

They need some coaching up, and a painfully easy schedule, but that team should be fun.
