Actually Its name GNU is a recursive acronym for “GNU's Not Unix!†Richard Stallman (a brilliant and eccentric MIT grad) started the Free Software Foundation (FSF). This name was chosen because GNU's design is Unix-like, but differs from Unix by being free software and containing no Unix code. Everyone thinks that Linux alone is an alternative OS but without GNU it is merely the bare bones. Hence GNU-Linux is the actual OS!

Back on topic: That's a pretty ugly, overly simplistic design. It doesn't even have the right pony logos. Black borders? Vertically stacked "SMU"? It looks like something someone threw together quickly just to have an illustration to go with the press release.
That said, as long as the screen is HUGE and in crystal-clear HD, it doesn't really matter much what they put around it.

I imagine those will be ads when all is said and done.

I don't care how good the equipment, I've seen nothing to indicate we've actually upgraded the brains of our game management staff.
I guess we'll get to see incorrect scores from the previous week's games in HD now.
Ooh, an some monstrosity akin to Don't Stop Bo-Levi'n.
Oh and maybe a poorly executed kiss cam showing people wearing shirts of the other team, or maybe even a Texas Longhorn hat. Can't wait to see that in crystal clear HD.
Garbage in, garbage out.

First, put a laptop in the video operations room to check the internet and broadcast current scores. Second, don't try to get "cute" with themed music. PERIOD! Third, tell the guy with the video "kiss" cam, don't select couples with hats and shirts other than SMU. NOW WAS THAT SO HARD???????
Just send 'da money.

What if I hire a few strippers and pay the Kiss Cam guy film them kissing?

How about no kiss-cam. Doing nothing is better than doing that.

I gather all ads will be on the screen itself, rather than in any kind of border. That way, of course, they can rotate more and more and more ads up there.
