I think that there should be several other schools on CUSA's radar. For instance Texas Tech, Baylor, Oklahoma State, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Air Force, New Mexico, Louisville, Cincinatti, South Florida. Conferences will have to fall apart for any of this to happen, but it would with TCU as well.

I don't see any of the other conferences falling apart. If the Big XII falls apart, they will be adding teams as opposed to CUSA adding them. I don't think New Mexico adds much in terms of football. I do think that we could conceivably attract TCU to CUSA if SMU, UH, Tulsa, USM, UCF, ECU, and Marshall continue to build along with UTEP UAB and others improving their product. Right now, the Mountain West has Boise State, BYU and TCU as potential BCS crashers along with Air Force as a very solid team. If UH, SMU and others raise their level to become BCS crashers and the others step it up I could envision TCU wanting to be in CUSA. As for the others it just doesn't make as much sense geographically.

If the Big XII falls apart, and Texas leaves, Oklahoma and A&M will also leave. What's left will not be able to attract many, if any, other good teams. I'm sure that CUSA would be competing with the MWC for some of the teams, but the MWC would not be able to absorb all of them and we would have a chance at the rest. Any of the schools I mentioned would improve our status. I don't see us going over 12 so they would only be replacements for the ones that leave. All of this is speculation anyway, but what Tuberville said makes a lot of sense.

Case in point why they would be the ones doing the raiding and not CUSA or MWC.

Not sure who would do the raiding. There are only so many schools in the footprint. Whoever has the upper hand would do it I guess. SMU, TCU, BYU and Houston probably wouldn't move unless there was a BCS berth waiting for them. And Missouri, Kansas, KSU and TTU would be hard pressed to move to a non-BCS conference.
