Re: Check out front page of rivalsGood pick-up for the program. He's a local that is well respected in the hoops community. Hopefully he can persuade some other locals to sign up and play with him. This kid has been penciled in since like April, which is why the McCoy loss didn't really hold that much sting
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.â€- Jalen Jones
Re: Check out front page of rivalsreally liked this kid as a shooter in high school. like his demeanor alot too. not sure where his game is now, he hasn't gotten off the bench much his first two years in the WAC but maybe he is ready to roll. Problem is he has to sit out next year right?
Re: Check out front page of rivalsI'm really hoping he gets his release. How crappy would it be if they remain hard-headed, and he enrolls in the fall, using financial aid. Tens of thousands in unnecessary debt just because his current school won't do the right thing
Re: Check out front page of rivals
Still may be some underpinnings of bad blood because of the Bowl game fiasco at Nevada and don't forget Ben from Cali was a Nevada prospect until the Bowl game....maybe too many reminders of SMU...
Re: Check out front page of rivalsSadly, that is the dirty side of NCAA athletics. Hopefully this situation will be resolved in the best interest of the kid.
I must say that it would be nice to restore the Kimball pipeline. Sasser, Ross...
Re: Check out front page of rivalsHe was the #14 rated player in the state by Texas Hoops in 2008. Has seen VERY limited action at Nevada though. I assume he will for sure have to sit out this season.
Re: Check out front page of rivals
The PG ahead of him for both his Freshman and sophomore years at Nevada, 6'3 Armon Johnson went pro this year (picked number 34 by Portland Trailblazers)......he would have played this coming year at PG, unless Nevada picked up a 2010 high recruit that could have displaced him.
Re: Check out front page of rivalsAnd this has to do with football.... how??
