What a waste of talent. Seems like pure laziness on his part contributed to his failures on the field.

It has been reported that The Great Vic Viloria basically built Russell — didn't teach him to throw or anything, but turned him from a tall, gangly kid into the man-mountain who conned Al Davis into wasting a No. 1 pick on him by making him lift with the defensive linemen at LSU.

Maybe the Raiders should have hired Vic and let him work him into shape again. This really is kind of sad (although it couldn't happen to a nicer guy than Al Davis. He's as annoying as Jerry Jones.)

Both Vince Young and now Russell have been a huge bust in the NFL. Both thought to be the next premier QBs and both having trouble adjusting to the pro game. How fortunate we have been to have solid QBs with their head on their shoulders.

I don't agree that VY has been a bust. Compared to Russell, he's a front-line starter. He's produced at a much higher level since getting into the league. Yes, he's had his problems, but he's also generated wins on the field. I don't think this is a fair comparison at all. No one ever accused VY of being fat, lazy and unmotivated on the field.
