They don't have to be casualties...but that is another issue....

Point is, if we want to compete in athletics we need to have the same requirements other schools do...

I was working under the assumption that any NCAA qualifier could be admitted...I still think Doh sucks, b/c if this is the case he needed to leak this the same way someone in the football program has brought it to light...

I would have written a letter for Doh as well...

Glad to hear, but I've been telling everyone forever that hoops is literally not recruiting tons of kids w/interest, who might come, only b/c they know they can't get them through admissions, even if they qualify.

You are right, Doh sucks, but publicity is NOT the way to handle program issues. Heavy hitters need to man up and back down Turner privately. This program is coming off success, a bowl game, summer camp is about to start, ball in 2 months etc. A full page ad cuts off our nose to spite our face.

Oh come on - you overplay this poor Doh BS. Just about every single kid Doherty has signed is an ACADEMIC QUESTIONMARK. The kids you are talking about that SMU can't get in are the ones that have to go to diploma mills to get into Division 1A Basketball. Go up and down SMU Baskatball Commitmnent List since the day he got here and Doherty has signed academically marginal recruits. If they had waited a couple of days more with Fabyon Harris he might have gotten in too. The problem is Doherty just ain't getting the job done.

and you don't know the whole story. It's going to get worse and a lot more public soon, and it has nothing to do w/any advertisement. There is an elephant in the room that Turner is aware of, and it didn't change his opinion on Hall etc.

Stallion, let's call it like it is. You're a services guy, not a sources guy.. I'm telling you flat out, and have been for a year or so, that SMU hoops backs off tons of kids b/c they can't get admitted. I didn't say qualify, I said admitted. I have emails & texts from freaking staff members laundry listing names over the years.

I'm not attributing this to Doh's success or failure. Honestly, I could care less about the guy. What I do care about is that the next coach is on equal footing going forward. That said, you've been the one saying we're on equal footing b/c you heard it in press release blurb. You were wrong on that, you're wrong on this.

What sport does the elephant participate in?

What good is a message board if we don't have sources willing to put their sack on the line and expose some of this stuff? Where is the Chip Brown agenda lackey when you need him?

Agreed. Maybe it's like this on every fan board of every team (I don't frequent any others), but the preponderance of "I know something you don't know, and I'm going to make sure you know that I do, too." on this board is occasionally quite irritating.

Either state it, or don't. But this "I know something, but I'm not going to tell you" stuff gets old quickly.

how about this, you guys pay a few bucks for premium or develop your own sources. i'm not in the business of hurting programs, especially those I back. You want info, get it or pay for it. Don't troll and cry when it's not silver-plattered for you. Those who do know, are sitting on it b/c they've been told to by their source, or they find it exceptionally sensitive and damning to the program. Simply, there are things that just aren't ripe for consumption on a public board. Especially a board this reactionary. Look at the outrage today, yet this problem has been an issue for years.

Unless I missed it (I'm premium thank you very much), this "elephant" you speak of has not been mentioned on those boards either. You insinuate that this is a nuclear bomb type development, so spill it or don't mention it. Putting a cloud over the program by mentioning "It's going to get worse and a lot more public soon" and talking about "elephants in the room" does about just as much harm, so drop the protecting the program act.

I understand protecting your source, or your information dries up, blah, blah. But does it make you feel better coming on here and posting you know something and then after the fact beating your chest that you knew that all along? I think your sources would be happy if you just didn't insinuate you know whats going on in the first place.

I am happy that you have come around and now post openly that you think Doherty sucks.
