I would prefer SMU admit Full Qualifiers under the NCAA Clearinghouse. I could live with SMU admitting all Full Qualifiers with SAT above 700 and closely scruntinizing those who score well below 700 SAT(formerly known as "partial qualifiers"). I'd love to know if Hall took that SAT on a Saturday morning in a daze after a Friday Nite high school victory party.

well, look at Brenham's schedule last year and see who/if they played on 10/10, 11/7, or 12/5.

or see if they played on the Saturday preceding 10/18, 11/8, or 12/6.

found it. So he likely took it the morning after one of these games:

10/09 H Magnolia West DISTRICT 18-4A 4-6 32.22 32.22 W 28-7
11/06 A Waller 4A Region III 5-7 35.38 35.38 L 14-15
12/04 A Dayton 4A Region III 11-3 61.23 61.23 W 30-24

I took the SAT the morning after a game played 3 1/2 hour bus ride away. I was injured badly in the game with what would ultimately end my career at SMU. I was able to make a high enough score to meet the higher than required SMU standards. I often wonder what type of difference there may have been in my scores had I taken it refreshed and without pain. I would imagine, however, that they could have been higher.

First time I have been called smart without being referred to as Aleck.

As many of you know, I have been a loyal supporter with multiple season tickets since 1990, attending football and basketball games, many mustang club donations, money when asked for Crum Center, etc. More important, I have family members and relatives working at Madison, Converse Judson and Smithson Valley high school -- some as coaches.

I have already received calls from those who are the coaches that this is making the rounds down here as far as recruiting and believe me this is not positive at all for us. I am just passing along that what we have done is not going unnoticed down here. There is no way to spin this to be good for us. For those that think this will blow over, I don't think so -- at least not for a while.

I am most disappointed at how this has apparently been handled and the athletes notified last minute. If that is really the case, it does make you have second thoughts on continuing to contribute money and time to this program. I'd rather devote resources to Larry Coker at UTSA who from what I have seen and at the luncheons I have been to are trying to do everything professionally.

I am sure UTSA will appreciate your support and we thank for buying tickets for SMU in past. In the meantime, SMU has facts that we don't know and I accept their conclusion. I assume that it was a thoughtful review and decision.
