Ha! Actually, I was down there several years ago. I got a tour from Bob Brandenberger. I think the tour lasted less than 1 minute. What can you say, it's a basement.

I don't think a tour of the band hall could last longer than, oh, 15 seconds or so.

There were also some interesting forgettable presidents of SMU.

Hardin who apparently wanted to stop paying players.
Zumberge who let it occur.
And of course everyone's favorite whipping boy, Ken Pye for reasons well documented on this Board.

Depends on if you are looking for Mithrandir's secret history written in invisible ink or not.

Perhaps that is why Mithrandir has left us, as he is still on said journey.

She, actually...

Yeah, a tour of the band hall is rather anticlimactic. You can help change that though:

I always found all the random junk on the walls and in the back very interesting. Strange drawings and quotes, signs from various locations including Tokyo, the gate to ownby, etc.

Then again I always find history interesting.

Yeah, there is a bunch of crazy stuff back there. Bodies of disobedient freshmen...

Well said, Samurai. I love your posts.

As for Turner being a great fundraiser. Yes - no doubt. But then again, college presidents in general today are 95% fundraisers & number two gladhanders.
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

It is not Turner's job to govern on admissions cases, so his legacy shouldn't be based on whether he did or didn't get involved in the case of two football players, no matter how much we want them in or they deserve to be in. His liplock on everyone related to the Dubbya bookmobile is a matter that can be a subject of debate, depending on your political stance, but it's the admissions committee that should be getting skewered over the current admissions fiasco, not Turner.

there are those who would in that case say that his mouth wrote an NSF check on January 7, 2008
