Open Scholarships
By my count the football team now has 10 open scholarships, 5 non qualifiers, 3 players flunked out and 2 transferred. What is the rule on the use of these scholarships to help the team this year.

Re: Open Scholarships
It sure sounds good for the two walk-ons from Southlake Carroll.

So, is that a good thing for us? I see it as a benefit as we can get them on campus and into the program sooner, plus there will be a full quota scholarships available for next year. Are there any drawbacks to this?

If you are addressing my comment, it was meant to agree that the outcome would be that those possibly greyshirted would most likely not be. The impact is that the recruits higher up the food chain are not in. On-going, there is more flexibility in scholarships.Junior wrote:So, is that a good thing for us? Re: Open Scholarships
I was actually asking if there were any drawbacks from not greyshirting any players this year. I can see what the upside would be, but I wonder if there is any downside, real or perceived. The PonyGrad wrote:If you are addressing my comment, it was meant to agree that the outcome would be that those possibly greyshirted would most likely not be.
