Kate,
I hope this thread finds you well.
I understand the majority of Dallas isn't really enthused about SMU football.
But there is a good story here for the masses. People love to read about money and deceit. The "Circle of Champions" is filled with very well known families and businessmen connected to the Dallas/Texas area. If these "elitist" were misled (lied, deceived) into giving 500k each to pay for June's salary by SMU....there is a good story there. Each of these members are very smart businessmen and are rich for a reason. While they have the money, I can't imagine they would just throw it away. And hiring June, knowing the Administration was going to handcuff him would be the definition of throwing your money away. Turner claimed that we were on a level playing field. June was quoted by the DMN saying "My understanding is that – I've only been here two-and-a-half months – we were able to get the players we needed and wanted. My understanding is it has been on a level playing field the last four or five years. Prior to that, it was an issue for the coaches. If you're an NCAA qualifier and we want you, you can come to school here." I assume he and the circle of champions were told this by someone. Everyone wants to read about deceit and money, and at the bottom of this story, that is what is there.
