Not sure if this was posted or not......from his online chat. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent ... 3aba4.htmlWill TCU or SMU ever make it into a major conference?Only if the Mountain West gets a BCS bid, which could happen. Otherwise, it's all about TV markets and how many TV sets you bring. Just because your school is in a big market doesn't mean you draw it, as conferences and networks are well aware. Any thoughts on the recent rejections of the two SMU recruits and the message it sends to the alumni base? Not good. I know that the school was waiting on transcripts, but it's completely unfair for a kid to find out in July that he can't get in school. Do you see that happening any place else? Not that I can tell. As the Brenham coach noted, this is the kind of stuff that gets around to other high school coaches. Would you tell your player to go there?

Our coaches jobs were difficult enough already, before Turner poured more grease on the hill.

Unfortunately, KS is still a spare. But, obviously, he is not alone.

This may be a molehill as opposed to a mountain as Stallion puts it, but it's a molehill on top of a high plateau.
Always, Peruna's Law. We better not go undefeated, the stadium might burn down or suddenly Turner will try to drop football.

The late notification is a major screw-up
the admission issue appears to be more molehill than mountain than we had under Pye. Perhaps we should be celebrating the admission of an unprecedented 17 marginal category recruits (25 in two years) which by indications does not even include 10 or so non-qualifiers during those 2 years. Hardly a program killer especially if the 2 not admitted kids had sub 700 SATs. If they had over 700 SATs I would be somewhat concerned

This situation goes much deeper, and looms much bigger than a molehill. Our coahes are already fielding way too many calls from upset high school coaches, Turner has the cap for this oil spill, but, I fear it won't get used.

BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

President Turner, I e-mailed you on July 4th, with complaints and questions about the future of our football program at SMU. I understand you are busy with many e-mails on the subject, but as I wait on a response I thought you might enjoy reading an article I found on Baylor's president and his feeling about sports and academia... http://www.star-telegram.com/2010/07/09 ... t-ken.htmlWe can have both at SMU. I believe we can do this better than anyone else in the state, but the administration needs to live up to its commitment that it gave to Coach Jones. It was stated at the press conference that SMU and Coach Jones would be able to compete with every NCAA school in terms of admissions. The recent developments contradict this statement. As a concerned alumni, who spends time and money on the University, I just want to make sure the school lives up to its promises. Thanks
