Re: More Positive Press That Could Have Been AvoidedAnd this guy is denying others from attending SMU?
Nobody needs to see an SAT, GPA, or be run through a bunch of appeals to see who is clueless.... "I don't sense any friction, and if there was any I'd pick up on it," says Tunks, who has overseen the school's undergraduate admissions since 1998. "Things are fine. I don't think there are any problems at all. We are really unified here." Nothing to see here - keep moving along. Turner Tunks makes Baghdad Bob look like a novice. He must think everyone he admitted since 1998 are a bunch of idiots. - I don't sense any friction - If there was any, I'ld pick up on it - Things are fine - I don't think there are any problems at all - We are really unified here - I have my head up my axx - oh, sorry please redact that one - it's a true statement This is Turners mess to clean-up. Tunks is Turner's guy, and Turner/SMU made private and public commitments that need to be honored. Fundraising is very difficult when you're neither trustworthy nor credible. Re: More Positive Press That Could Have Been AvoidedI read the paper every day and I have not seen the Anti-Turner ad yet. When is it coming?
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.
Re: More Positive Press That Could Have Been AvoidedThis is a horrid article for SMU. One it gives the picture that JJ may leave early (which can become a self-fulfilling prophecy). If he leaves, not sure who would want to come here. I think the good thing in all of this is his personal pride. He doesn't want to go out a quitter without sustained success. If we have a winning season this year, I would not be surprised to see him listen to offers. If that happens, we know there is much truth to this article. There are some BCS schools out there who would give a left nut for JJ.

Re: More Positive Press That Could Have Been AvoidedIf not for Gottschalk, we could use the race card, like Kanye Turner: "President Turner don't like black people."
Seriously, why does Turner get to say that we're not on a level playing field?
Re: More Positive Press That Could Have Been Avoidedjj needs to man up and take charge. he can't quit or they win.
Re: More Positive Press That Could Have Been AvoidedWho is running the "We Are Not Going Back" campaign? Are any of the big time donors involved?
Re: More Positive Press That Could Have Been Avoided
Yes, there are Circle of Champion, and other big donores involved, everyone is needed at this critical time.
Re: More Positive Press That Could Have Been AvoidedWSGJ that's a great question. They don't have a website that I could find with google. Nothing posted here about joining it. Appear to be a very under the radar group.

Re: More Positive Press That Could Have Been Avoided
How about an on-line petition/campaign?
Re: More Positive Press That Could Have Been Avoided
How does one become involved in the campaign. I imagine that a recent grad or two (someone with more computer knowledge than myself) would be able to set up a basic website for the campaign. PONY UP!
Re: More Positive Press That Could Have Been Avoided
Well I think it might be about time to get that group on the radar. I would bet there are plenty of people that would like to get involved if more was known...
Re: More Positive Press That Could Have Been Avoided
I bet our friend RGV, would be willing to send info to anyone upon request.
