I remember being surprised when he posted about that. Loved Milo's when I was in school and still go there a lot. Food is reasonable and tasty, and I love the cheap pitchers. Always a good time there. Haven't made it to that new Twisted Root yet.

I wouldnt bother going there. The staff is less than happy to serve you and the food is very sub par. I would go to Milos or even Barley House over going to Twisted Root again.

Abolutely no reason to go to Twisted Root Burger unless you are a fan of trendy places who market well and thus survive on the perpetuation of it's own self manufactured greatness. Same concept as one person saying "Oh look, theres a cloud in the sky." Then everyone else nods and says, "Yeah, thats a cloud." Since everyone says it's so great, they feel pressure to disagree if their experience doesnt match everyone elses. It's a hamburger people. Better to support the SMU alum owned Barley House across the street or Milos. Or even 1st and ten, although in a completely different area.
And...some of their investors I've had the displeasure of dealing with are bat-shit crazy. So i'm biased, but my earlier statement stands.

From my experience at Twisted Root, get a gourmet meat (buffalo or venison) - otherwise, it's not worth your while, as their beef burgers are no better than "above-average."

I had the Vension/Buffalo mix and it was outstanding! Their home made root beer is good stuff as well.

Twisted Root is terrible.... lets just get it out in the open, I dont want to sugar coat this by saying oh yeah, get the double buffalo, osterich, quasimoto, orangutan burger ITS AWESOME!... Thats stupid. The only reason you should ever go there is because you want to feel special for a matter of about a second or two when they give you a card so you can come up to get your food to the order of "Hank Hill" "Charlie Brown" "Jenna Jameson" or some other terrible name that they will throw out at you that probably should make you feel worse about yourself because they can't have to common decency of calling you by your own god-given name. Only go to Twisted Root downtown, personal preference.... go to TACO BUENO. Talk about quality food for cheap
