BLVD. Preperation

I was at a BBQ this weekend with some fellow Ponyfans in which we were discussing the upcoming season as well as our BLVD set up. We have a spot on the North side of the Blvd accross from Cox, and I was still confused on the set up of tents, chairs and tables for this year.

It is my understanding that tents will not be provided this year is that correct? I also undertand that you have the option of renting tables and chairs, is that correct?

If my assumptions are correct we will have to provide our own shelter this year and was wondering if anyone knew a place that made or sold an SMU Pop Up Canopy tent and where you could get those SMU fold up chairs?

Here is the best deal I have found on a quality 10 by 10 pop up (anything larger needs a permit) I just ordered it on line will get it this week. Don’t buy the cheap $80.00 ones. Their a bear. This is a great buy @ $168 delivered. Also keep in mind red, white, or blue.

might sound kind of cheap, but I saw some pretty sweet SMU foldup chairs a couple days ago in the CVS by the bookstore. They are on top of the beverage containers on the far wall. Its worth checking out, I might be getting 1 or 2 just for the heck of it

We actually upgraded out tent this year to. Bought it online in white. This is our third tent and we have them screen printed for aobut $100 with the SMU logo.

The permitting process isn't difficult at all. You simply have to produce a letter from the tent maufacturer saying the tent is fire retardant (they all have them on file to email to you), fill out a form with the UP fire department and pay $50. The fire department claims they are checking this year.

As for chairs, we just buy a bunch of the folding camp chairs. As mentioned, if you look you can find SMU ones. We carry 16 of them. I figure we break three or four a year, but they only cost $15.

Walgreens by campus carries the SMU logo chairs. Haven't seen them anywhere else.
