Red Out

Postby aaives481 » Thu Jul 29, 2010 10:04 am

I think we should have a "red out" for the SMU-TCU game. Friday night on ESPN...we need to have a good showing as I'm sure a lot of recruits will either be in attendance or watching on TV.

Anyone know if something like this is already being planned? If not, who can we contact to put the wheels in motion? The school should make t-shirts and hand them out like they do at NBA playoff games.

We've had white outs, blue outs, red outs before and they have all failed miserably. I'm on board, but our fan base does not like to trade in the pastels on gamedays. I hope winning changes those wardrobe decisions, but I think it will be a long gradual change.

I don't look good in red; it clashes with my eye color.

still don't have a good enough following of loyal fans. Red outs, white outs, blue outs, don't work unless all the faithful fans do it. School looks weak when 10k out of the 30k do it. Especially when 12k will be purple.
If we are undefeated, then MAYBE......but I hope in the future we can.

I wear black on the outside because black is how I feel on the inside.

Another doomed thread. 8)
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

You are right, we have many loyal fans that just refuse to wear Mustang shirts.
