CB Ronnie Ford

Postby Otto » Sat Jul 31, 2010 10:00 pm

ESPN says he has committed to SMU, which would be No 16.
Lists Ford as being from Trinity Valley CC.
6-0, 190, 4.4
Don't know about offers, but it says he chose us over (at least) Iowa State and UTEP.
I have found differing reports, but most list him as being from Dallas — Carter HS, I think.
I really shouldn't drink and type.

Sounds like a great athlete. Besides the 4.4 speed, he also has a 36" vertical leap.

Can't have enough athletic DBs, and this one sounds like he has good size and speed, too.

he went to Dallas Carter-but I couldn't find much on him. Some sources I usually look at don't archive the information I usually look for

Seems to have run a personal best 11.78 sec 100m at the TCU Invitational in 2009. 40th place in TX state 100m

I don't think many corners could make it in NAIA football running running an 11.78 100m. I guarantee it's nowhere near his best if he's anywhere close to a 4.4.

I don't know about that... It was fast enough to get him to the TX state finals in the 100. Plus, he's supposed to be 6'0, that's nice size for a CB.

Where did you get the State Meet ranking-this is what I found but I didn't post it because the times are non-competitive. He did finish 40th but it was at the TCU Horned Frog Invitational

An 11.78 is really slow. That would be pretty decent for junior high. No knock on Ford at all. If he's 6'0" and can run a true 4.4, he runs a lot faster than a 11.78.
