Seriously? NCAA won't let you send out a media guide anymore? Those things have become collectors items. I've been helping my dad sell all of his on eBay. A lot of them go for $40-$50 a piece! What possible reason could they have for not letting schools send out media guides?

It kills a [deleted] load of trees, and way too many are produced and sent out to people that don't matter at all?

I think it probably has more to do with giving schools that have a ton of money to spend on this type of thing an unfair recruiting advantage.

It was a recruiting issue in the eyes of the NCAA. I could not remember exactly how, but the donkey is usually right.

Ah. Here we go:

http://www.pursuantsports.com/blogpost/ ... gislation/

You can still print a media guide if you want, you just can't give it to a recruit for free. It can only include one color of print on the inside, and there is a page limit. The "per NCAA rules" comment must have been about the print color.

I just read the entire thing, went out in the front yard and hugged my oak tree.

You guys do realize that new trees are planted every day and have been for years don't you? It is a replenishable product. I am sitting at a beautiful oak tree right now and it serves a good purpose. I guess we could all quit drinking beer to save the barley.

I remember when some sample TAKS questions were on the DMN website, and all the posters freaked out that wood was listed as a renewable resource.

that was the 1st thing I noticed looking at the roster...but playing the 3-4 and realizing that LBs make good special team players...it makes sense
