I tried to read the article, but was too distracted by the picture.

That is a nice picture, but I couldn't stop trying to figure out how old that picture was. That helmet was used one year. I thought it was six years ago, but I was wrong-seven.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Look what happens when you write your season prediction from a state sheet:

1) You inadvertently use a picture of players no longer here in uniforms that are no longer used.

2) "If so, they’re going to need to fill some big holes left by the departure of star seniors Emmanuel Sanders, Mitch Enright, and Chase Kennemer."
Not to mention that guy McCann who's playing for the Cowboys and that McNeal kid who's playing for the chargers.

3) "With so many young starters last year—13 were freshmen or sophomores—there will much work to do to keep up the intensity on the offensive side of the football."
I wonder how "will much work to do" there would be if these guys were juniors and seniors.

4) "With the exception of senior Mitch Enright at center, the O-line is nearly intact. Freshman Ben Hughes will be a likely replacement..."
Don't forget to mention the loss of our preseason all-conference guard, who is arguably one of the best players on the team. And I'm pretty sure Bryce Tennison has always been considered the replacement for Enright at center.

5) "Sophomore Zach Line and freshman Darryl Fields will share the backfield duties, as neither has shown he alone can fill the role."
Well, to be fair, Fields hasn't even had the chance to even show he can fill that role. But from what I'm hearing, both of those guys might be behind Pope on the depth chart.

6) "Much emphasis will be put on the defense, which, despite already being stout—ranking No. 6, allowing 27.6 points per game—will be expected to improve as last year’s youngsters continue to mature."
I actually generally agree with this sentiment, although I've never heard the term "stout" applied to a defense that gave up nearly 400 yards per game.

7) "Along the line of scrimmage will be junior DE Taylor Thompson and DT Mike O'Guin. Both are big, athletic defenders who will be able to rush the passer as well as stand up strong against the run."
In the case of Thompson, this is certainly true. But how the heck do they know about O'Guin. The man's never even played a single snap on Saturdays. What about Margus Hunt? What about Marquis Frazier (a really good, and big, player who may slide inside and play at much DT as O'Guin). I think there's a fairly strong chance that O'Guin won't even start this year at DT.

8.) "Even without Kennemer, the second row is pungent. Sophomore linebackers Youri Yenga, Pete Fleps, and Ja'Gared Davis are coming along and have made strides at the position during their rookie seasons..."
#1 calling our linebackers "pungent, is just not very nice. I don't think they smell any better or worse than any other team's linebacker. Also, Fleps and Yenga are seniors, and while you could say that last year was Yenga and Davis' rookie season at LB, it most certainly wasn't Fleps'.
"It's a couple hundred million dollars. I'm not losing sleep over it." -- David Miller

Hey they may be offbase, but any press is good press and it is nationwide.....it all helps with publicity. Its just great to see people write about SMU, even if the facts aren't quite straight...

It's not press. It's just a collection of blogs. Anyone can write bleacher report articles.

Barring some key injuries at certain positions, we are gonna be good! Just keep working hard and be a little more conservative when we are up two or three touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Oh, and don't kick it to the number one punt and kick-returner in the nation(Kerley TCU). Every fool knows that.

It's free publicity.

If you don't appreciate bleacher, for obvious reasons, just skip the post. I didn't read this one, but did read and appreciate the PerunaPunch breakdown.

for the obvious perspective from the not-so-long-ago, here's a bleacher report for 2008 (probably similar to a number of previous years):

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/8643 ... he-country

yep, I'll take the current flawed bleacher reports over the bad old days anytime.
