CFN SMU Prediction 5-7SMU
2010 CFN Prediction: 5-7 2010 Record: 0-0 Sept. 5 at Texas Tech L Sept. 11 UAB W Sept. 18 Washington St L Sept. 24 TCU L Oct. 2 at Rice W Oct. 9 Tulsa W Oct. 16 at Navy L Oct. 23 Houston L Oct. 30 Tulane W Nov. 6 at UTEP L Nov. 13 OPEN DATE Nov. 20 Marshall W Nov. 26 at East Carolina L I think that we will be Wazzu, and either UTEP or UH(who we always play well at home) 7-5. Re: CFN SMU Prediction 5-7I'd say that's a fairly defensible position. Wazzu is the one I think we'll take. I agree that we'll split Tulsa and UH. UTEP will be a coin toss as far as I can tell. So 6-6 or 7-5.
I wonder if the writer is just penciling in Wash St. because they are an AQ team? -CoS
Re: CFN SMU Prediction 5-7loses to WSU, Marshall & UTEP? Ya right. We'll take those

Re: CFN SMU Prediction 5-7I'm thinking 6-6 again.
Re: CFN SMU Prediction 5-7
Well we went 8-5 last year and this is what CFN predicted:
So looks like 10 in 2010 Fear the Mustangs.
Re: CFN SMU Prediction 5-7
solely based on this game prediction alone, I'm considering this to be a completely unreliable evaluation by whomever threw this together. consider: "When Bill Doba took over at Washington State following Mike Price’s departure back in 2003, the program was pretty much at its zenith. "The good times were pretty much over after that. Doba stumbled to a 5-6 mark in season two and didn’t generate another winning record before being let go in 2007. Paul Wulff came over from Eastern Washington to assume the head coaching reins and the Cougars went from being mediocre to being very, very bad. In his two years on the job, Wulff is 3-22 and his Wazzu teams have been outscored to the tune of 1,032-309 in those games. Ouch. The good news is that Wulff returns eight starters on offense and nine on defense. The bad news is that these same players generated the following statistical rankings last year: 119th nationally in total offense (248.6 ypg), 120th in total defense (512 ypg) and 119th in scoring offense (12 ppg). Wazzu also allowed a mind boggling 53 sacks on the season." http://lonelytailgater.com/uncategorize ... state.html of course, we know the only game Wash St won last year was the gift-wrapped, interception-laden, heart-breaking disappointment that SMU delivered; despite JJ describing this as the only game where they beat the other team in all phases. we also know ball-security has dramatically improved since the 2nd half of last season. so, how anyone can suggest an unfortunate WSU program would be competitive with a much-improved SMU team, is beyond me and suggests someone failing to do their homework. um....and, yes....I have too much time on my hands..... rambling done.
Re: CFN SMU Prediction 5-7Wow! 53 sacks is really bad.

Re: CFN SMU Prediction 5-7Washington State is the only game I haven't had seconds thoughts about. I would be completely shocked if WSU wins this year.

Re: CFN SMU Prediction 5-7
so, this includes the conference championship and bowl win? I'll go with a 9 or 10 win season, too, bowl game included.
Re: CFN SMU Prediction 5-7
Not necessarily wins in the bowl or conference title game
Re: CFN SMU Prediction 5-7
okay. I'll buy that. but, wow.... that means 10-2 at the end of the regular season. it's gonna be a fun ride.
