Sentinel columnist Iliana Limón writes, "(June) Jones has completely changed the perception of what is possible at SMU, helping a once-proud program recover from some of the harshest sanctions in the history of the NCAA... While many talk about Houston as the favorite to win the Conference USA championship, SMU returns the most players and has the most balanced team."

Very smart writers.

I'm so glad football is starting, and we are going in the right direction.

I hate it when people are positive about SMU football. Don't they know we are over achievers with no experience and nobody returning?

Are we 24th? We will find out in less than a month. It all depends on injuries. If we stay healthy, we have a shot at top 25.

Injuries kept Ron Meyer from turning the corner a year sooner. JJ is good about saving his players for game day and not getting them injured during practice. We could be very good and we could have a major disappointment depending on injuries.

We have talent we just don't have dependable depth.

tongue-in-cheek, I hope?

there's some depth at selected positions, just not across the board. but, there's probably a few more bodies to shuffle around as needed, compared to last year, don't you think?
it'll be the usual 'hold your breath' and hope for minimal injuries, and just come out firing.

This writer wasn't aware the Tarrence Wilkerson and Josh LeRibeus are not with the team.
