SMU sophomore quarterback Kyle Padron has been quite cognizant of the newfound expectations on him – and the Mustangs program – for months.
He was an unknown freshman backup at this time last year. Now? He's on the Davey O'Brien Award and Manning Award watch lists.
As fall practice opened Saturday morning, he continued to embrace all of it.
"Everybody's starting to get it because we won last year," Padron said of his teammates. "It's more excitement than anything. Pressure comes with it. ... I can't wait for the season opener, and to show that SMU's back."
