Now that we have a new Video Board..Can someone please make a cool intro for the team prior to their entrance?????
Mustangs running in downtown Dallas to campus.. clips of Doak, Rote, Gregg, Merideth, Ball, Tolbert, Pony Express, the smackdown in Hawaii.. kicka$$ music in the background to pump up the crowd.. mabye even some kind of saying flashing up on the board like.. "Back from the Dead" or just something to get everyone going in the stadium?? Marketing.. please don't screw this one up.. many examples on Youtube.. even Tulsa has a great intro to check out. What we obtain too cheap.. we esteem too lightly. It is persistence alone that gives everything its value.
Re: Now that we have a new Video Board..Can we please put the students to work and offer this as a project in the marketing/communications school...combine it with meadows....
Make something like this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dkZIDNA ... re=related or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8xgiBTT ... re=related
Re: Now that we have a new Video Board..seems to me the fans care more than the marketing dept...couldn't anyone (most notably ThadFilms) put something together for the team??
Re: Now that we have a new Video Board..I know our markeitng dept loves this music.. we use it all the time.. but here's one that aggy uses. I'm not an aggy fan at all.. but when you watch this, you can't help but get pumped. Imagine the historic film, faces, names, hall of famers, moments of SMU history we could put into something like this..
Not only would it pump the crowd up.. it would be an education for the generation of fans that have no idea of the names and history that has come through SMU football. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCG2rlIAtUY&feature=related What we obtain too cheap.. we esteem too lightly. It is persistence alone that gives everything its value.
Re: Now that we have a new Video Board..this year could SMU at least hang banners from the light standards on Hillcrest and Mockingbird, including our own shopping center...?
Re: Now that we have a new Video Board..
I think they're happy with the NO GAME PARKING signs
Re: Now that we have a new Video Board..This company, Green Grass Studios, does cool videos. They have done a lot of the Mavs stuff (linked below). Never used them for video, but they did do some 3D renderings for a project I was working on and they were quite pricey. Doesn't hurt to explore it though. A cool intro video would look great on the new HD board.

Re: Now that we have a new Video Board..Man, Thad could really do us right in this area.
Re: Now that we have a new Video Board..Great Post! This has to be done for this season. For the big home games TCU/Houston - would be great for new and old fans. Big games and to have a kick [deleted] intro...
Re: Now that we have a new Video Board..If Thad is too busy with his project, how 'bout hiring the "Double Rainbow" / "Auto-Tune the News" people to auto-tune Rich on some recent highlights and some classic highlights, and throw in a beat.

Re: Now that we have a new Video Board..I do fear our new HD board is going to be poorly used with the "same old tired stuff." Please prove me wrong.
Re: Now that we have a new Video Board..Isn't everyone looking forward to seeing the Don't Stop Bo-Levi" music video?
The donkey's name is Kiki.
On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney? Good, Bad...I'm the one with the gun.
Re: Now that we have a new Video Board..I am happy but a little concerned at the same time.
The video board at Moody hasn't been utilized properly and it's not even HD. Poor planning. Let's hope they get this right.
Re: Now that we have a new Video Board..
I hope you're wrong too, but last weekend I was talking to someone in the Athletic Dept and it sounds like all of the $$ was put into the new equipment while the actual budget for gameday production/entertainment was slashed. In other words, Robert Lee Kobb will be doing it again for less money. And I get the impression that the "marketing dept" is now really the media relations dept with more work on their plate, so I wouldn't expect a whole lot out of them simply because they don't have the time to devote to both media relations and marketing.
