For those of you who haven't been following recruiting, go and take a look at what Klemm has done as far as recruiting lately. This guy is amazing.

Suggestion for continued success in SMU football: Round up another sum of money from the Circle of Champions (and other donors) and get Klemm signed on to a long-term deal.

So long as we can keep Klemm around, we will be competing with the TCU's and Boise State's of this world in no time at all.

Klemm is a STAR recruiter. We need to do whatever we can to make sure he stays. Maybe he is the successor for June Jones?

Kudos to Coach Klemm. It's great news that recruiting has gone so well, and that we have talented players contacting the school on their own and expressing interest. And more kudos to Coach Jones for recognizing and adding quality people to his staff. That is not only a rare talent, but it speaks volumes about his character. Winners attract other winners!

Write Turner and tell him the football team needs more support from the ADMIN....

Klemm has a pretty good amount of money and he needs more than cash...

exactly. Make him associate head coach now. Then name him head coach in waiting after this year or the next.

I would agree that we want him here and things should be done to keep him, but this is his first coaching job. I would kind of like to see his coaching ability before having him named head coach. Let's just make sure he is happy in his job. I also do not buy that the money does not matter. Most that have money always want more.

At the very least, it is a way to keep score.

I don't disagree, but we aren't going to be able to pay him anymore than any other BCS school...

His three Super Bowl rings help with that too.

A more important means of keeping score, IMHO, than money.

No BCS program is going to offer him a head coaching job, but a school like Texas could make him the O-Line coach and he could make a ton of money. We need to be proactive in keeping people here.

Remember also that a head coach has recruiting limitations. You want Klemm on the front line. Now, find out what will keep him happy here as an assistant and lead recruiter, and do it.

This is not only his first coaching job, it is his first year of coaching (heading into 2nd), following a year of being a volunteer assistant.
I doubt any of us would hand over the keys to a medium to large corporation to someone with such limited experience, no matter how bright the potential.
I agree with everything else about Klemm -- stellar recruiter, great guy, and a huge asset to the program to keep around. A head-coaching stint may be in his future, but shouldn't he be a bit more seasoned?

I don't think anyone said make him the Head Coach tomorrow...just lock him up by giving him the opportunity to be the coach in the future...

You want to keep this guy, you need to continue to write turner and stay on the Admin...
You need to get JJ to sign the extension, and he will help keep Klemm here...
