Imagine how we would have torched Doh had Harris ended up signing here and left before the season even started!

You caught a break Doh!

Doh may have seen the hand writing on the wall. Give him credit from backing away from this kid when he saw all the problems surounding the situation which all transpired at the time he was initially offered. Too bad, I hope this kid gets a chance and salvages his life befoe becoming another Chicago ghetto statistic.

the kid did catch a break. Offered a Division 1A scholarship to several schools and a chance to get away from a terrible environment he obviously was surrounded by-but I guess he'd rather go home.

You are right pointing out that this kid was given a chance with a D1 scholarship. Problem is that a sclolarship alone does not solve the other financial and support considerations a kid might be facing. A kid being raised by a relative on welfare does not necessarily have the $$$ for travel to school, clothes, spending money.....etc. I do not think we have a true picture of the situation with this kid other than he lives in a real tough neighborhood setting.

I wish him well. He's already had enough misfortune to last a lifetime.

Pell grants are routinely availiable to kids in this situation which provide significant funds for living expenses of students.
