Re: Reports: BYU mulls going independent in FBTCU is freaking out...killerfrogs.com is a buzz...
I would like to pair up with them again...
Re: Reports: BYU mulls going independent in FB
At that point is the MWC an upgrade over C-USA? I'd think we'd be better suited in our current situation with much closer regional conference mates like Houston, Rice, Tulane, UTEP, and Tulsa. The only advantage to joining another non BCS qualifier conference if if you thought they were on the cusp of being offered an automatic BCS qualifier bid. No way in hell that happens now that Utah and BYU have gone by the wayside.
Besides, I would think the first invites would go out to Fresno State and Nevada.
I totally agree with this post. MWC without Utah and BYU is not worth our time.
Re: Reports: BYU mulls going independent in FBI currently live in an area with a lot of LDS people. Their love for BYU is more cult-like than even A&M. BYU has their own network that is already on in more than 60 million homes on basic cable. I do not know if it will make them a better football team, but I do think they would benefit financially from their independence.
Personally, I believe it to be a bluff. I think BYU is angling for a UT type deal, where they remain in the MWC, where they can put available games on their own network instead of on The Mtn.
Re: Reports: BYU mulls going independent in FBReports are that BYU will play 4 - 6 teams from the WAC a year, which would make scheduling easier.....
They already play Utah every year anyway..... http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=5473151
Re: Reports: BYU mulls going independent in FBThis sucks for TCU...from auto bid with utah and Boise...to Boise, no utah, no BYu, no auto-bid and having boise bang them around every year...
Re: Reports: BYU mulls going independent in FBso the MWC would have...
Wyo UNM AFA TCU Boise St SDSU UNLV bring on UTEP and Nevada lol... I'd rather stay where we are
Re: Reports: BYU mulls going independent in FBDon't forget Colorado St.
Re: Reports: BYU mulls going independent in FBthis ESPN article says that there is now a $5 million fine for leaving the WAC- agreed to after Boise left- so that could mean no Fresno or Nevada for the MWC:

Re: Reports: BYU mulls going independent in FBAndy Katz tweeted:
"BYU closer to independent in football; WAC (for) rest (of sports); MWC made run at Fresno St-Nevada Tuesday but both agreed to stay in WAC" Yikes, Fresno and Nevada said no to MWC, will be interesting to see what they do next....
Re: Reports: BYU mulls going independent in FBMildly amused. Without BYU's 4 consecutive 10+ wins in football and Utah's two BCS bowl wins, there will be no BCS bid for MWC. TCU and Boise won't get it done. And if Boise leaves....
I am sure that BYU will get a BCS deal similar, but not quite, what Notre Dame got. It is in the current BCS conferences best interest to ensure the MWC doesn't get a bid. Also, the Mountain network viability just went to zero. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Re: Reports: BYU mulls going independent in FBFrogs are PISSED.
Re: Reports: BYU mulls going independent in FBTCU may have no choice but to join WAC or C-USA if BSU reneges
Re: Reports: BYU mulls going independent in FB
Sun Belt
Re: Reports: BYU mulls going independent in FBRumblings coming out from the AIR FORCE athletic dept are that if BYU goes Indy, then AIR FORCE will too.
