Reports: BYU mulls going independent in FB

If that's true then what is crazy about this is the timing. If BYU and any other MWC school left a couple of years from now, then presumably BSU is already in and the conference has stablized a bit, putting it into a position to simply replace whomever leaves. But with BYU saying 'deuces' now and BSU saying "no thanks" and having an out, it completely leaves the rest of the conference exposed.

I'll say this: If that is the case, then BYU is counting their chickens before they've hatched. (Or counted their wives before they've said 'I do') It's waaaay to early to assume that they are going to the Big XII, and that's not taking a risk, that's being stupid, even if I do think they are going, too.
