With a high probability of a rum fire.

Wow they must be scrambling big time....who are the teams that the WAC could add ( and that would even be interested?) to get back to a minimum of at least 8 Teams? Would it be relegated to only California teams?
UCSB, Portland State, Montana, etc?

I don't believe any of those west coast teams are ready to move up to FBS (I-A). Likely if the WAC wants to survive it will be another raid of Sunbelt teams, perhaps Troy, MTSU, or the Louisiana schools.

I feel bad for Hawaii. They've gone from playing in the Sugar Bowl 5 years ago to being black-balled by everyone. Travel expenses are too high for conferences to want them. On the bright side, they can probably schedule BYU. I see them dropping D1 football soon. College football is depressing.

When I was out there in May I was stopped many times while wearing my SMU shirt and people gushed about JJ and they all love their football team.

I think Hawaii has to do something but I am not sure who wants them. Losing June Jones was a big blow to the program. I am not that in tune with UHawaii football but from everything I have read in the past, they need to do upgrades on their stadium, spend more money etc. I think if they do that it will save their program enough to where they will be able to survive on being independent if they have too. I think the Warrior fan base is pretty good to where they will get a lot of support whichever route they decide to go in.

I agree. Play 12 home games. Keep 100% of the gate and concessions. There should be 12 teams a year willing to "vacation" their players to Hawaii. Play it up right and maybe find a way to get the visitors to pay for the right to play there. Promoted properly I bet they could have a successful and profitable program. If necessary play 1 or 2 games a year in the States for large payouts. If feasible, travel to different Islands for home games to draw more fan support. They could probably get concessions from the NCAA for certain benefits if there was anything to be had.

I think as far as Hawaii football goes, that's the best option. Several schools would play at Hawaii so they can get that extra game. I think they would need some away games in order to recruit. Maybe 8 or 9 home games.

The only problem with all that is the non-football sports. Maybe they could join WCC in everything but football.
