Don't call me Surely
Re: super conferenceThere is nothing super about lumping 20 teams together. Now if you want to pick the 9 best of that group radiating out from a population center like Texas then you might have something. This is what I think TCU should strongly consider organizing.

Have you ever seen a grown man naked? Been in a Turkish prison?
Re: super conferenceI could see this scenario being a valid compromise IF the non AQ schools mounted enough pressure and legal proceedings against the BCS, but they havent. as it stands, why would the BCS grant any access? Utah solved their problem for them by joining the Pac.
The Cotton Bowl at Jerryworld HAS to be on the verge of gaining status though, that only makes sense.
Re: super conference
Agreed, and I still think it is very doubtful, but if ESPN is behind the curtain, who knows......
Re: super conference
I have tried to blank it out of my mind that the Cotton Bowl is no longer where it belongs. Unbelievable.
Re: super conference
its arguably the best football facility in the world now, the Cotton Bowl name has the history, Dallas has a ton of policitical clout, the Big 12/UT would want it, and Jerry Jones is a marketing machine. How can it not happen?
Re: super conferenceTweet from Tom Dienhart just after 4:20 p.m. Dallas time:
TomDienhart: Rather than a 20-team C-USA/MWC, I'm told it may be more likely that C-USA adds two teams to grow to 14. The additions: TCU and Temple. http://twitter.com/TomDienhart/status/21608696136 ![]()
Re: super conference
I find this to be the least believable scenario of all. Far East Conference
Re: super conferenceDanWolken: The C-USA/MWC merger seems far-fetched on the surface, but I've had two conversations that lend legitimacy to the possibility.

Re: super conference
if Louisville, Cincy and South Florida can get invited to the Beast, TCU can. Not saying its happening, just that its among feasible scenarios.
Re: super conferenceLouisville is a public school with a large enrollment.
Cincinatti is a public school with a large enrollment. South Florida is a public school with a large enrollment. TCU is............ nice try. Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: super conferenceI've only seen the TCU to BE rumor on this board. No writer has tweeted it/written it up.
At least TCU/Temple is being thrown out there by writers with connections who actually cover the conferences involved. ![]()
