If BYU Stays MWC: Then What?I'm starting to feel like BYU isn't going anywhere. If indeed that is the case, does MWC go ahead and invite Houston and call it quits? Or do they bring in two C-USA programs (likely us or UTEP)? I think the odds of any "super conference" are marginal at best. SMU needs to be prepared for a CUSA without Houston. That could seriously suck. Lets hope it doesn't come to that.
Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: If BYU Stays MWC: Then What?THis UTEP thing is amazing...I know they draw fans but come on...
Re: If BYU Stays MWC: Then What?Tell me about it. UTEP is the biggest enigma in all of this. How they are above us in the pecking order baffles me.
Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: If BYU Stays MWC: Then What?BYU is going nowhere. Those who really believe BYU is going the Notre Dame route, raise your hand. They are drinking waaaaayy to much of the Morom Kool Aid out in Utah..
GO MUSTANGS!
Re: If BYU Stays MWC: Then What?BYU was out the door until the MWC pulled a coup on them by ripping up the WAC (where BYU was going to land for "all sports"). That is somewhat confirmed by the rumor that USU said "no" to an alleged MWC invite. USU wants to keep BYU happy at all costs. I think at this point BYU is weighing its options including a landing zone for all sports. It is the UT of non-BCS schools that is looking out for the most $$$$ for BYU and a larger audience for its wholly owned religious channel to push the beliefs of the Mormon Church. Of course if the 20 team rumor is true and let's say that Rice and Tulane are among the losers in that cut, would we say "no"?
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: If BYU Stays MWC: Then What?BYU is now exploring the West Coast Conference for non-football sports.
Re: If BYU Stays MWC: Then What?
Yeah, I'm wondering if the MWC realized that when chopping up the WAC. The WCC is just as good an option for non-football sports, with the exception of some history that BYU has with the WAC. If they really want to be independent, they'll do it.
