Anyone thinking something different? Does Jeremy Johnson crack the starting lineup and some point this year?

I think Holman has a chance to be a starter by seasons end. He is a really impressive athlete. Also Jeremy Johnson will be a significant player for us this season.

I like that Beasley is starting to feel NFL potential right now. Not like he needed more motivation, but seeing the potential on the Horizon should really help him become a monster out there. So far his college stats mirror his professional role model, Wes Welker. In order to keep that going, he needs a thousand yard season. It should be interesting to see how he develops this season with the vacuum left by Sanders.

While I certainly wanted T-Wilk out there, but it should be good to see what Haynes can do.

I think he just needs time to recruit. The 2008 class was a rush job, but he still managed to get a starter in Beasley (and yes, I'm aware that he was a Bennett recruit), the 2009 class brought in Deonte McDade, DJ, and Chayse Joubert who all came with a degree of acclaim (not to mention finding Holyfield under a rock). Then 2010 brings Jeremy Johnson and Kyle Guinyard (and lets not talk about Ricky Collins... sigh). The 2011 class is light at WR now, but we'll see come February.

what's the story on TWilk in terms of possible return? would he be eligible to return next year if he gets his grades in order? i thought I saw something on here last week about him still being on campus taking classes. did i dream that up?

everyone looks great in shirts and skins. Unless Darrius Johnson, Jeremy Johnson, Guinyard steps up I think its a pretty average group other than Robinson. I've always thought Haynes looked decent the few times he's gotten a shot. Holman played in such a run oriented offense who knows his potential. Every June Jones starting WR will catch 40 passes and accumulate a lot of yards-the issue is whether they can make big plays to win games like Emmanuel Sanders. We didn't exactly light the world on fire last year in the passing offense or total offense from historical June Jones standards even with 2 NFL prospects. When we get the right players then you'll see us in the Top 5 in passing offense every year. Right now we are underperforming by about 100-120 yards per game from the potential of this offense. If you go by what Houston did in CUSA in 2009 or Tulsa before that then it is more like 175-200 yards per game.

Holman and Jeremy Johnson have been getting great reviews so far and I think they are going to see the field some this year as opposed to Guniyard coming off that injury. DJ NEEDS to have a breakout year.

The offense deffinately has room to grow and more yards to gain. With Kyle being a true freshman I think we did about as well as can be expected. Im looking forward to more "Hawaii Bowl" type performances this year!!

However, though Robinson has been good; he has the potential to be outstanding. If he performs this year the way he's practiced, he will bury his breakout sophomore year. As good as Al was last year, he was slowed by a nagging injury. He looks like a different player this year.

DJ DOES need to step up. But he looks like a different player too. Although nobody will ever mistake him for Michael Irvin, you can tell he's spent a lot of time in the weight room. Hopefully that added strength will make him more effective and less prone to injury.

Haynes has been inconsistent. But he DOES look like Irvin. He's a prototype NFL receiver if he can develop that consistency.

As for Beasley, the kid is a playmaker. Time and again last season, he turned the tide. Just watch the first few minutes of the Hawaii Bowl for a reminder.

Don't forget that our offense statistics last year were somewhat handicapped by BLM throwing the ball to the wrong colored jerseys.

I believe, that while our receiver corps probably IS average (other than Robinson) at this point. But I think they have they ability to be rather good. What we are going to miss, IMHO at this point, is McNeal in the running game.

He was awesome as a 3rd and 4th option last year. This year, he starts out as the 2 or 3. Lot more pressure on him as he goes up against better DB's. Just my opinion, but he has to prove himself all over again. I think he can do it, but we can't just take that for granted. Assuming he does, our WR's will be a great group to watch.
