Re: New BBall Commit?Sounds like he is a smart kid who plays HS in the Princeton offense. Offer list is not impressive.
Re: New BBall Commit? The kid is very skilled. A tremendouse shooter and passer. Can handle a bit as well. He helps w/length, IQ, and skill level. His video is pretty nice.
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.â€- Jalen Jones
Re: New BBall Commit?
He is a late developer phsically and a skilled swingman, good passer and has an impressive mid-range game as well as a potent 3-point stroke. He is a very good student is hearing from schools including Yale, Harvard, Penn, Columbia, UC-Santa Barbara, Oregon, Fresno State, Portland, San Francisco, San Diego State and Hawaii.
Re: New BBall Commit?at least Doh's San Diego vacation was fruitful
I will not make age an issue in this campaign. I'm not going to exploit for political purposes my opponent's youth and inexperience.
Re: New BBall Commit?
It's funny, I thought this exact same thing. The guy was actually out there for a reason. Nice family vacation, hobnob w/the stars, score a legit & skilled face 4. Nice. “When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. Re: New BBall Commit?I think we need to lay off him and let him do his job. If it happens it happens, if not we will be discussing possible replacements after the season. I still hope we wins 20 and signs all the guys he wants.
Re: New BBall Commit?
I don't think anyone is condemning the guy to failure, but he's going to get derided constantly given recent performances. Sir, shooting-star, sir.
Frosh 2005 (TEN YEARS AGO!?!) The original Heavy Metal.
Re: New BBall Commit?I really hope he is gone. It doesn't matter how many wins he gets next year. He has sucked millions out of our university and done nothing to earn it!!!!! Our bball results are no better than before. Get this charlatan out of here. The most successful thing he has done is make a fool out of our AD when it came to negotiating a contract (and I'm sure that was his agent that did that).
GO PONIES!!! MSUTANG MANIA LIVES ![]()
Re: New BBall Commit? If DohBoy can get the princeton offense installed successfully it may be worth giving him a little more time. He may have finally put together a good staff and be making some headway in style of play and recruiting. This season is going to tell a lot.

Re: New BBall Commit?
Shut your pie hole, it's recruiting season. We don't need supposed fans of the 'program' moaning & whining over the coach, when their is more good vibes around the program now, then there has been in the last 5 years. We are recruiting well, and look to have a great chance at breaking through w/ the locals. Beyond that, the team starting in '11 is going to be high-mid talented, post season talented. “When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.â€- Jalen Jones
Re: New BBall Commit? Its no secret that Doh is on the hot seat. I hope he has a great season and turns this thing around. Its up to his players to help him this year. If they don't step up and have career years, then he needs to show why he should stay. If he's recruited a great class for 2011, then he might get another year, but he needs to show tangible reasons why he should stay if they don't have in my view a .500 conference year and a winning overall season.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: New BBall Commit?
I think we get what needs to happen for Doh to stay, I just wouldn't bet against it right now. We've loaded up w/so many cupcakes, this team could easily just lose 1 or 2 in OOC this year. That's a marked difference than in years past. People will point to schedule, and I get that, as its full of lightweights, but IF we're like 12-2 heading into conference, I don't give a crap who we play. I was discussing this w/someone who was in charge of making the schedule, and his response was simple & unarguable. SMU hasn't won 20 games, in what amounts to double digit years. Before this team can turn the corner, and really find the other side for the long term, they need foundation to work from. Simply, 20 wins over no one, helps the program more right now & going forward, than 16 wins vs a slightly more respectable schedule. Nobody wants to shelve a competitive OOC long-term, just long enough to taste success. As was pointed out to me, get 20 wins and SMU will buy a CBI Invite if need be. After the year is over, it won't be about who we didn't play, just momentum moving forward “When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.â€- Jalen Jones
