BYU to Stay, UH to MWC?Moderators: PonyPride, SmooPower Re: BYU to Stay, UH to MWC?going on killerfrogs, they are dillusional and still think they get AQ status by adding Houston, even if BYU leaves. I do not understand the thinking there, unless they apply for a waiver. Are TCU and BSU joined at the hip? No, b/c TCU bolts for BE if they get an offer. And the bottom of MWC is way worse than the bottom of CUSA in total numbers.
Still think it would be so much better to start from scratch, take best of both conferences and drop the dead weight that is Rice, Tulane, UNLV, SDSU,
Re: BYU to Stay, UH to MWC?Let's be careful what we wish for. We are not that far removed from being "dead weight". I personally still think that IF the BCS agrees to the play-in game, then the MWC can add USU and perhaps keep BYU. Or you go with a 24 team conference with four divisions of six each. And split it up. I would avoid shedding the "dead weight" because it involves too much drama of who wants who to stay. And many times the "dead weight" is good for basketball (eg. Memphis, UNLV, UAB).
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: BYU to Stay, UH to MWC?yes let's hope they don't define "dead weight" by the number of season ticket packages either

Re: BYU to Stay, UH to MWC?
Or number of wins in the last 3 seasons. Or number people who will tune your game in. Or number of people who travel to watch you play......or....
Re: BYU to Stay, UH to MWC?If there is truly bad blood between the UH and TCU AD's, what if TCu pulled the old bait and switch? UH goes to MWC, TCU says, 'see ya' and takes their place in CUSA.
That might kill UH's athletic program with the extra travel costs and no hope of AQ status. #NewLobCity
Re: BYU to Stay, UH to MWC?Rumors that BYu is ironing out final TV deals to stay in MWC and add Houston...
Not so good for us..
Re: BYU to Stay, UH to MWC?welcome La Tech.
Re: BYU to Stay, UH to MWC?If indeed the rumors of BYU staying in the MWC and that Houston is leaving CUSA are true then that would be the nightmare scenario. UGH. UGH. UGH.
Nick, Where are these rumors coming from? Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: BYU to Stay, UH to MWC?
While this could happen.... just remember UT was going to the Big 10, aTm was going to the SEC, TCU is going to the Big East, UT is going to pac10. For every rumor you find about one thing on the internet, you can find another saying the exact opposite. One rumor will be correct, but.....
Re: BYU to Stay, UH to MWC?
been kinda downhill for them since Fran left
Re: BYU to Stay, UH to MWC?Wrong Aggies. Reading the article makes me think that USU joins if BYU stays. The question would be whether the MWC invites others if BYU bolts and who would join? My guess is that UH would not want to join a MWC without BYU. I can't believe there would be much of TV contract with 12 mouths to feed.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: BYU to Stay, UH to MWC?
I know.
Re: BYU to Stay, UH to MWC?So as I understand it, we need to hope for BYU to stay and Utah State to get the invite? So at that point the MWC would have added three more mouths to feed in Fresno State, Nevada, and Utah State while doing nothing to increase their odds of BCS AQ status. Then the logic in my mind is that Houston doesn't see the advantages in switching and stays with us in C-USA?
Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: BYU to Stay, UH to MWC?If they take Utah St. over UH it is just because they need to kill the WAC so the 5 million dollar buyout lawsuit isn't an issue. No WAC, no buyout.
