Why the big discrepancy between the ESPN and other evaluations? Per ESPN, he's a better than average high major recruit.
Re: New BBall Commit?
Just a matter of who saw him where. ESPN seems to like him, he has similar rankings as Vilde & Leslee Smith.ponyboy wrote:Why the big discrepancy between the ESPN and other evaluations? Per ESPN, he's a better than average high major recruit.

remember Nick Nolte in "Blue Chips"? Doh better pull a Pete Bell and sign that kind of a class if he wants to stick around...Butch McRae, Neon Boudeaux, & Ricky Roe. Do it Doh.

So, when exactly will it be allowable for supposed fans of the program to voice a dissenting opinion? I have to say what I read from you on here and what I actually see from the team are two vastly different things.PonyDoh wrote:Shut your pie hole, it's recruiting season. We don't need supposed fans of the 'program' moaning & whining over the coach, when their is more good vibes around the program now, then there has been in the last 5 years. We are recruiting well, and look to have a great chance at breaking through w/ the locals. Beyond that, the team starting in '11 is going to be high-mid talented, post season talented.redpony wrote:I really hope he is gone. It doesn't matter how many wins he gets next year. He has sucked millions out of our university and done nothing to earn it!!!!! Our bball results are no better than before. Get this charlatan out of here. The most successful thing he has done is make a fool out of our AD when it came to negotiating a contract (and I'm sure that was his agent that did that).

Its on...
Re: New BBall Commit?
Geez Jon, I don't know. How about we start by not hating on the program/coach in a thread welcoming the newest verbal? Novel concept. We know you despise Doh, and I don 't blame anyone for that stance, as I'm not exactly a fan. That said, I like the way the roster is shaping up, should we recruit well in '11(big IF,I know). I'm lukewarm on this year, and we're missing a ton of pieces, but the schedule sucks, so our glaring deficiencies may not show up in the W/L column, like they would otherwise. How is any of that controversial or even debateable? You don't like the additions of Smith/Vilde/Pats/Giles/Norman etc?Balatro Diabolus Ex wrote:So, when exactly will it be allowable for supposed fans of the program to voice a dissenting opinion? I will like them alot more when they're eligible, until then their absence creates a serious depth problem. Has Smith passed the Clearing house, yet? Will he be here this semester?PonyDoh wrote: You don't like the additions of Smith/Vilde/Pats/Giles/Norman etc?
If you would like me to move this to a different thread, thats understandable to keep this one focused on the new recruit. I'll put my other comments in a thread on the basketball board.
Re: New BBall Commit?
Admittedly, I haven't checked out their individual status of leslee in a month or so, but all the kids were on campus and completed summer 2, to my knowledge. Leslee had the score, and Lutz said he'd get through, but that was awhile back. Vilde was admitted but can't play this year, unless he wins the appeal. There was no movement as of a week ago.Balatro Diabolus Ex wrote:I will like them alot more when they're eligible, until then their absence creates a serious depth problem. If you know Smith isn't in, as of now, why not just say so? At that point we'd all agree we have no depth, and its going to be a painfully long year.
Edit: Good call, Jon. We're going to suck. Just asked about Smith

I didnt know for certain, thats why I asked. He wasnt in school when classes started on Monday, and I was hearing that he didnt make it. I thought you'd know. I didnt want to say it outright, because I wasnt sure.PonyDoh wrote:Admittedly, I haven't checked out their individual status of leslee in a month or so, but all the kids were on campus and completed summer 2, to my knowledge. Re: New BBall Commit?
I admit much ignorance about Smith's abilities, but we're going to go from potentially pretty good to sucking just because of one freshman's absence?
