The Karma You Put Out is the Karma You Get Back

Postby Statler » Tue Aug 31, 2010 11:02 pm

Well well well,

Tcuseless has tried to run away from us for years with their visions of grandeur. As Rev. Wright says, "the chickens are coming home to roost!"

Tcuseless' conference is blowing up. Couldn't happen to a better bunch of froggies.

The Might Mormon Tabernacle Football messing up Tculess' plans makes me very happy! :D

TCU, with its imploding conference, is in better shape to move up than we in our stable (for now) conference. Hard to get to worked up and pound our collective chest like Tarzan when we are still a long way from the TCU model of success.

In a weird sort of way, I feel sorry for TCU. They were sold a bill of goods that they bought into and they did their part to try and turn that dream into reality. The thing that they didn't understand was the dealing with Utah and BYU is something done with great care and with eyes open. Also, I don't think TCU envisioned the BCS doing what the BCS does, when its club membership is threatened. It surgically cuts out the best program(s) in a league and then watches the carnage below. I think we learned that lesson when the WAC exploded (twice) and from the CUSA explosion and to some degree we were lucky to stink when we did. We made some survivor alliances with Tulane, Rice and Tulsa and did not dump TCU as an opponent (and to their credit they did not dump games with us).

Now CUSA is by no means steady. Everyone is looking up at the BCS. If an alliance with the MWC can lead to a play-in game for an autobid, then both leagues can be more stable. Yes, ECU, UCF and Marshall are kind of stuck on islands out there, and it would be nice to have some other teams near to them. And perhaps if football gets solved, we can address adding some strategic all sports teams to reduce their travel costs. ECU, UCF and Memphis all have eyes toward the BE. But with the SW base we have and USM, UAB, and Marshall, we can survive any BE hit that comes.

Meh.

We left the WAC as soon as we could. TCU left the WAC and C-USA as soon as they could. We would gladly leave C-USA for something better if given the chance. TCU would gladly leave the MWC for something better if given the chance. BYU and Utah left the WAC. We always knew BYU and Utah would leave for something better if given the chance. It appears they have. This is the nature of the non-automatic qualifier BCS conferences. There is always something better. Personally, I thought they were no worse off in C-USA with SMU as a conference mater and a chance to use that extra non-conference game to schedule whoever they want. Personally, I don't begrudge TCU for doing what it did. Though, I do admit it is kind of funny.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Who would have thought a year ago that we would be debating the destruction of the MWC? Those guys thought they had everything lined up as a BCS Conference. How the mighty have fallen. Very funny.
