Excellent hire by Copeland and the committee. Let's hope that Tubbs can help us make SMU a team supported by Dallas at large, not just by those who went there. I think he can. Let's also start building a basketball practice facility for our teams so he has a chance to compete.

Depending on his recruiting success, it could be sooner than that - I'll say two years. One thing I liked today was that he called out the DISD coaches. He said something about the support he's had from the DISD coaches, and how he expects them to help him, in terms of recruiting. He said something like "If I go by their schools, and he (the coach) says 'Jimmy, he's thinking about going to Duke,' I don't want to hear that."

Nice move, putting the DISD coaches on the spot to back up their written support of him with players for SMU.
