How did the spring workouts go for the teams? I remember the school pushed the men's game against the Burn in February, but then didn't even list a score anywhere. Any players (men's or women's) step into the roles of departed stars like Kevin Hudson, Ramon Nuñez and Kim Harvey? Anyone leave the teams? Any major position changes, or injuries to be concerned with?

:?: Who are we looking at as top recruits for the womens soccer team? We are obviously building a contender that will be able to knock off A&M and make a run at a national championship. I know we signed some much-sought-after members of the Dallas Texans who will enroll in September... do we have any lined up for the following class?

That's one of Coach Coss's new deals - having the women play against guys. He had a group of guys who would train against them last year, and although they weren't in the shape that the women were, or even as polished in their skill (some were), the sheer size and speed they brought was great training for the women.

And, for what it's worth, SMU released this yesterday:

Mustangs, Dallas Burn Play to a 2-2 Draw
Zindel, Saintus Score SMU's Goals

DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU men's soccer team held off a late flurry of Dallas Burn shots to tie the MLS team, 2-2, in exhibition play Tuesday night at Westcott Field on the campus of SMU.

The Burn took an early 1-0 lead with a tapped-in goal at the 7:32 mark in the fisrt half. The Burn extended their lead to 2-0 as the 36th minute approached, but less than one minute later, Kellan Zindel notched SMU's initial goal at the 36:47 mark. In the second half, Dario Saintus tied the game at 2-2 with a goal at the 52:19 mark. The Dallas Burn failed to capitalize on a prime scoring attempt when being awarded a penalty kick at the 78:55 mark but Eddie Johnson's attempt hit the lower left post and careemed towards the right sideline.

The Mustangs continue their spring play this Saturday with two games at UT-Dallas.
