TX TECHHey Stallion whats the stats on the Juco QB, coming in for Tech?
I'm not Stallion but I found this information on the QB in question.
Robert JohnsonQB, 6-1, 195, Jr-TRAmericus, Ga. (Reedley [CA]CollegeFive-star recruit (Rivals.com) No. 1 JUCO quarterback in the nation (Rivals100.com) No. 1 JUCO quarterback in the nation (JCFootball.com) No. 1 JUCO quarterback in the nation (CollegeFootballNews.com) No. 8 JUCO overall prospect in the nation (CollegeFootballNews.com) No. 9 JUCO overall prospect in the nation (JucoJunction.com) Top 100 athletic quarterback in the nation (Max Emfinger Recruiting) All-USA Ironman First-Team (JUCO Football Network) All-California JUCO Region II Offensive MVP2003 All-Valley Conference MVP Helped Reedley to 21-2 record over last two seasons, including a 12-0 run and a national championship in 2002 … led Reedley to 394.5 yards of total offense per game in 2003 ... passed for 2,245 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2003 after throwing for 2,122 yards and 19 touchdownsduring freshman campaign ... completed 162-of-281 last season … rushed for nearly 500 yards in 2002 … led Americus High School to 15-0 mark and state championship during senior season … originally signed with West Virginia out of high school … also recruited by Tennessee,Kentucky, Kansas State, Kansas, Washington, Central Florida and Fresno State ... Junior College Coach: Michael White On a random side note, he's from the same town in Georgia as Dan Reeves and Chan Gailey.
If it's any consolation, he doesn't have the starting job yet - he still has to beat out Cumbie (5th year senior, BJ's backup last year).
From what I hear out of practice, he's got a great touch and can scramble well, but is still getting used to Leach's offense. We'll see what happens between now and then, I guess. Best of luck next year - I enjoyed my trip to your gorgeous stadium last time around. And when I die
You can bury me
In Lubbock, Texas,
In my jeans.
-Mac Davis
Is Graham Harrell going to be given a chance to compete for the job? Or is Tech completely set on redshirting him? I know he's immensely talented, but maybe we could catch him with some first-game jitters.
He's a definite redshirt. However, Leach's system is extraordinarily complicated - it's very possible to catch any of our qb's off guard since none of them have any real playing time to speak of.
Looking forward to the trip, but do any of you have any hints on where to park? I remember that being my only real problem last time. And when I die
You can bury me
In Lubbock, Texas,
In my jeans.
-Mac Davis
