ESPN Non-AQ Blog Prediction

Postby Harry0569 » Thu Sep 23, 2010 12:21 pm

TCU 38, SMU 17. The Battle for the Iron Skillet resumes in Dallas, where SMU has asked its fans to wear red for a “Red Out” in the nationally televised game Friday night. The Mustangs are vastly improved, but they are no match for TCU, coming off its best game of the season. Watch for SMU to try and attack cornerback Greg McCoy, the way other teams have so far. Even still, the TCU defensive line could have a big game against a team that has already given up 10 sacks this season.

Man.. I don't know why we're even showing up for the game or should even walk out on the field with these guys.. they're just too good.

Honestly, the verbage is tiresome.. looking forward to this game and the atmosphere. Will we lose?.. Odds are, yes.. but we still have to play the game.. and I think we'll raise some eyebrows on the TCU side. If Padron doesn't turn the ball over and the front seven pressures Dalton.. SMU can keep this game within reason. We should get a real feel for how this team handles a top-10 team.. I think our Defense will rise to the occasion.. and hope our passing game wakes up.

The passing game absolutely has to get going. Lots of quick passes, and take some shots downfield when the opportunity presents itself. Also, Kyle can't hold on to the ball as long as he has in the first 3 games of this season. In my opinion, I think that's a big reason why we've given up 10 sacks already.

Ahh....they had to mention the "red out". I was hoping that would be overlooked but I can hear the announcers on Friday already, "SMU planned a red-out but it's a blanket of purple tonight Bob."

4. How does SMU handle the TCU defensive front? The SMU offensive line has struggled in the first three games of the year, giving up 10 sacks. Wayne Daniels is off to a good start for the Horned Frogs, with 3.5 sacks, and the TCU defense is always good at applying pressure. You can bet that will be the game plan to rattle Kyle Padron and get him off rhythm.

I would not be surprised if there is about 65% purple in the stands during the "Red-Out"

man.. you guys are becoming more like the sand aggies when it comes to stadium attendance smack.

EARTH TO TCU - Yes.. we know there will be ton of purple there. Great.. it's a full stadium. Just like the one the Sand aggies, Mormons and military academy's helped you fill in FW.. especially the years leading up to this one. We are building a program that skipped an entire generation.. no one has seen SMU win for the past 25 years.

So good job.. come fill it up.. spend money.. tell everyone what a great time it was.. and come back.

Typical Army.. GO NAVY

I would say my 2 tours flying Blackhawks in Iraq qualifies the "Army" in my name. What have you done for your country?

This isn't about my name or your name genius..

I'm happy to say "thank you" for serving.. if you did - hard to verify anything these days just because you called "Army phrog" or whatever.

TCU has been there.. as it relates to others filling up their stadium or just the lack of sellouts. All I'm saying is.. Glass Houses my friend.
