You were hoping Baylor would drop TCU instead? As a matter of fact, they did. They'll honor the contract for a home game against TCU in '11, but after that, no more TCU games. And after last Saturday, who can blame them?[/quote]

Actually, Baylor was probably worried that both TCU and SMU would spank the Bears. A loss to TCU is expected, while SMU would be closer and therefore a greater loss of face. Couple that with TCU (being a home game in Waco) will bring in more $$ than the cost of an away game in Dallas. Now matter how you slice it, it sucks to be Baylor.

If you are a player or coach, which would you rather play...at Michigan in front of 110,000 or Washington State at home in front of 8,000? We make money and maybe knock off a few teams and I think it helps recruiting because most kids want to play in the big-time venues they see on tv. Ref: see FSU and Bobby Bowden's early years. Maybe we can pick up Texas, LSU and Arkansas. Better to do it now whiule teams will still play us.

Fresno did that 10 yrs (?) ago. They had the attitude, "We will play anyone, at anytime, anyplace." They had 3 or 4 years of just brutal non conference schedule. I wish I knew what their payoff for that was. The didn't win many of the games, but they played everyone tough.

I so wanted to see SMU avenge the fake punt. Why would we agree to Baylor cutting the game here and then the next year keeping us on the schedule there?

That's the North Texas strategy. They play mostly all body bag games as OOC games and get their brains beat in as well as have injuries in those games. Then when the conference play comes they can't recover mentally or physically. Not a good philosophy.

I think Boise still has an open date next year, but they will only play us if we give them $1 mil. :D

I try North Texas first, even if we have to go to their new stadium just because of how local it is.
I have no problem traveling to neighboring states like at La Tch, Ark St, or New Mx St., especially when I believe SMU will win those games.
But it's even better if we get someone to come to Ford.
In FCS, how about E Wash. ?? if we can't get a Texas FCS in to play at Ford.

I wouldn't be surprised to see JJ try to get a home-home with Hawaii.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

Spot on. This is, IMO now, the odds on favorite to happen.

I heard that you can now play as many FCS teams as possible and have them all count toward bowl eligibility. True? If so, BU must be trying to rig the system to try to get to the almighty six win total. Who'll want season tickets when you can just pick up the Big 12 good schools as singles. Only UT or A&M sells out anyway.

BYU travels well, and is in need of games to fill their schedule. If we don't mind playing them in October or November, probably easy to do

Ford Stadium Rule Number One - Keep Cool. Go run to the concession stand and buy yourself an ice-cold soft drink. If you are Mormon, we offer caffeine-free Sprite.
