You should have beat Tech. #6 UT didn't do anything against them either.
SMU is a good team that played well. what the feck is there to be confused by? TCU is overrated. A 17 point loss at home is not playing well, we have higher standards now
You have higher standards now? Losing by 17 to the #4 team in the country = high standards. Losing by 17 to a #20 - #25 team = Your standards aren't that high. You choose. you're thicker then a set of encyclopedias Losing by 17 at home is not playing "well," full stop. Capiche Corky?

It's pretty simple.
TCU is GOOD.
We did a good job hanging around for 3 quarters. Our guys should be proud of their effort.

I think today has shown that TCU's 17 point win is impressive for a #4 ranked team given the scare Bama got and the beatdown Texas received at home.
Now most will say Arkansas is in the SEC, thus they are automatically a great team! Someone remind me the lst time Arkansas did anything worth mentioning. Have they been in any SEC title games?
Just because your top teams are usually the best in the country doesn't mean that the mid teams like Arkansas and Auburn are national powers.
TCU took care of business and even on a "bad night" put up 41!
That was with our best RB since LT hurt, and Dalton playing terrible like he does in most big games. However the difference this year is that our weapons are so many that it makes it impossible to shut us down for 4 quarters.

Arkansas has been in 3 SEC Championships. 1995, 2002, and either 2005 or 2006. Now that I have shown you to be wrong there do I need to continue to refute your statement?
FWIW, I am happy if TCU is 4th best in the country because I was pleased with our effort and know that within 2 years we should be close to their level or better.

TCU is closer to being a #4 than Texas is to being a #7. Until the folks who come up with the rankings change TCU from #4 status, then TCU is #4...and we gave them a damn good game and made them work for their win. So...what's the problem?
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

However, #4 in the country? I would expect a #4 team to manhandle and push a team of SMU's size and youth all over the field. Remember the OKla State game 4-5 years ago. They weren't #4 but that is what a men vs boys game looks like.
To answer the question of #4 does TCU beat: Alabama - no Florida - no LSU - no Texas - no Oklahoma - maybe Ohio state - no USC - no Nebraska - No
You are not giving them enough credit. Play those 10 games, 5 at home and 5 on the road and I wouldn't be surprised to see TCU play them .500 or better, depending on who they played where. Penn State - no Michigan - maybe.
I wish TCU could schedule some of those teams to see if a non AQ team can beat the traditional powers. I think TCU is a top 15 team.

TCU has a very athletic O line. TCU got a lesson in running the ball when they concatenate so much on the pass. Not the first team to learn that lesson this year.
TCU has very solid special teams.
I saw Bama last year play and I think TCU could play with them. Don't know about beating them but certainly in that caliber of teams.
TCU is a top five team unless someone proves, and I mean proves, they are not. TCU is a very good team and very well coached.
And though I hate to lose to the Toadies, I wish them well for the rest of their season.
I have said all along, TCU is a rivalry, not the enemy. The enemy is the BSC and the NCAA.. If TCU can kill our shared enemy, then I am all for them.

after watching the games this weekend this is my top ten: 1. alabama 2. Ohio State 3. Boise State 4. Oregon 5. OU 6. Neb. 7. Wisconsin 8. TCU 9. AUB 10. Stanford
I'm Sure i'll get flamed but I think every team infront of TCU would win on a nuetral field, games might be close but TCU would lose

I see nothing wrong with saying that I watched the game and did not see a # 4 team on the field. They are certainly good, but didn't really lay it on a SMU team that Sagarin has ranked #73. That is not a knock on the ponies. We didn't play our best football and we still hung pretty tough.
For the record Sagarin has TCU ranked 8, 9 and 11 based on his three ranking systems. The ranking used by the BCS is the one that produced the 9.

Everyone's shut down our passing game this year. TCU's pass defense is very good but since our passing game has been ineffective every game, I think you'd have a difficult time proving in any way that TCU's defense "shut down the run and shoot"...any more than Tech, UAB and WSU did.

Stallion: "You get way to emotional and completely lose perspective. You don't think TCU has a great team and a superlative defense."
SMU SID: "SMU had 192 rushing yards 29 carries for a 6.6 average. The team is averaging 5.7 yards per rush (121-688) for the season."
TCU certainly didn't have a superlative D on Friday. In fact, per the SMU SID, they allowed more yards per rush than we have averaged for the year. As someone else ponted out, TCU didn't shut down the run and shoot any more than the other three teams we have played.
If I were a TCU fan, I would want to believe that they were #4 or #5 as well, but it's pretty obvious to me that they didn't look goo enough to deserve those rankings, at least based on Friday night.

Nebraska beat South Dakota State 17-3 at HOME....impressive win there. OU beat AF by 3 at HOME last week and beat might Cinci by 2 this week...very impressive. Wisconsin is always overrated. (I would put Stanford ahead of Nebraska, Auburn and Wisconsin.) I am guessing that 4 - 10 are all over the place depending on the voter in question. One thing i will say on behalf of TCU is I don't put much stock in how they played against us in determining their ranking. What I mean is some teams consistently play to the level of their opponent but still manage to win (like TX last year). I rank TCU at 8 because of the way the teams infront of them have looked not so much by how TCU has looked

Just curious, but how do you think Nebraska looked at home against South Dakota State?
