ESPN Announcers' Comments

Postby Statler » Sat Sep 25, 2010 12:08 pm

Towards the end of the game the announcers started to talk about how SMU football is on the rise as "they have the MONEY, the developing players, and the coaches."

Started to laugh, as I always said that "SMU has more money that (insert deity) and when the money people get tired of losing, the problems will solve itself." I have had more people comment on SMU having JJ as its coach. My response is "well we can't pay players anymore, we pay our coaches all that money." Then when I tell them that Mack Brown makes twice as much as JJ, their jaws drop.

After watching 20 years of bad football, it sure is fun watching our program on the rise again.

They also promoted Thad's "30 for 30" two times even saying that the series is critically acclaimed and that the title of the film is "Pony Excess", a play on the "Pony Express" of yore.

Obviously ESPN likes what they see and it can only be good for them and SMU.

Also for the Thadster as well!

Hope the HBWFM is still standing when I return to HB tomorrow!
